A Space of Affirmation, Reformation, and Restoration
You Belong Inspirations is a spiritual home where individuals from all walks of life, especially LGBTQIA+ individuals and those who have experienced religious wounding, can find a safe haven. It is a space of affirmation, reformation, and restoration, where one will leave feeling uplifted, inspired, and celebrated. Through contemplation and spiritual practice, visitors can make new discoveries about the divine at work in their lives.
About Me.
Rev. Kory N. Turner is not your typical Rev. He holds fast to his belief that there is one
common thread that makes us one regardless of what we believe about God or how we
choose to connect to that power. That common thread is LOVE, and Rev. Kory aspires
to lead with love in all his affairs.
Formative Years
Rev. Kory was born and raised in Newark, NJ. From an early age, he knew that he was called to be a minister, often being spotted preaching to and “playing church” with his friends, neighbors, at swing sets and play areas. He learned the importance of service to others by accompanying his great-grandparents to pray for and bring communion to those who were afflicted and/or home bound.
Active Ministry
For several years, Rev. Kory served as a Deacon with the Unity Fellowship Church Movement, founded by the late Archbishop Carl Bean. He also dedicated a year of volunteer service and support to unhoused youth of Covenant House of Atlantic City, NJ. For over a decade, Rev. Kory has committed himself to the vocation of supporting underserved youth and families of the NYC metropolitan area. He was ordained by One Spirit Interfaith Seminary as an interfaith/interspiritual minister in 2020.
Education
Rev. Kory holds a B.A. in Family and Child Studies from Montclair State University, as well as a Master of Arts in Ministry (M.A.M.) from Drew Theological School. During his studies with One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, Rev. Kory took a particular interest in Ifa Orisa spirituality.
